January 20, 1939 – February 25, 2024
Nicholas J Davella of Sarasota, FL, passed away on February 25, 2024. He was 85 years old.
Nick was born on January 20, 1939 to Anna and Nick Davella in Brooklyn, NY. He was the youngest of three sons. He joined the Navy in 1957 and served active duty for two years and then four years of reserves. While serving Nick proposed to Carol and they married on October 8, 1960. They were together for 63 years.
Nick learned to play the piano at age of six which he continued as a life-long passion. It was during one of his early gigs that he had met Carol and they started to date. Always the entrepreneur, he opened a piano tuning and repair business, which he ran well into his late seventies.
With that same entrepreneurial spirit, Nick opened the doors to his own computer software company, Jamison Business Systems that lasted for 30 years. He was always passionate about his business and helping his clients, some of which were with him for over 20 years.
After his retirement, Nick continued his piano playing and performed in various volunteer shows and skits at Cascades. Nick will always be remembered for his beautiful music and his incredible talent to fix almost anything that may have broken.
Nick was called to serve his community several times and was a proud lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus in the third degree, a Rotarian past president and a Eucharistic Minister in church and outreach to local hospitals.
Nick and Carol have three children, Mark, Nancy (Craig) and James (Sandra) and five grandchildren; Alec (Jenna), Emma (Mitchell), Trevor, Carolena and Sofia. He is survived by all including his wife, Carol.
Nick’s life was joyful and fulfilling. He hopes to be remembered as a good husband, father, grandfather and friend.
