Nancy was born on August 9, 1959, in Sarasota, Florida, to Frank R. and Raymoth E. Rivers, on their wedding anniversary. She received her BA from Furman University in 1981, her MA from Florida State University in 2002, and her MS from Florida State University in 2009. She received the Gold Medal Award from the Parents Program at Furman. She started the Dance Team at Furman.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymoth and Frank Rivers.
She is survived by her brother Frank; nephew, Josh (Litsa); niece, Larkin; nephew, Jackson; cousins, Elizabeth, Warner and Bill and aunt and uncle, Ellen and Warner.
Nancy loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family, friends, classmates, and her pets with 100% of her being. Precious Lord and tender spirit, thank you for sharing your Nancy with all of us.
Nancy shared her parents’ passion for wildlife, pets, and rescued pets. She will always be remembered for her love and care of Mittens, D’Artagnan, Duke, Molly, Riley, Slinky, Coco, Tiffany, Emma, and Lady. She had a very special bond with Lily, Nala and Grayson.
Nancy loved her books and was an avid reader. She would frequently read through the entire night. She also loved her world of art history. She totally enjoyed sharing a virtual coffee with her friends each day.
Nancy treasured her friendships. She loved maintaining contact with her childhood and college friends. Her neighborhood friends were her rock. They sustained her, and she valued each of them.
She dearly loved Josh, Litsa, Larkin, Jackson, and Pat. She would spend hours looking at pictures of her niece and nephew.
Nancy will always be remembered for her compassionate and loving heart. She gave her whole heart to each of you.
