Mary Jane "Jane" (Murray) Fournier, 92 of Sarasota, formerly a long-time resident of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024 at the Alderman Oaks Retirement Center in Sarasota. She was born in Livermore Falls, Maine, September 16, 1931, the daughter of Fenton R. and Lillian (Maxwell) Murray.
She was a graduate of the University of South Florida and taught first grade and then third grade at Palma Sola Elementary in Bradenton for 25 years, allowing her to indulge her love of children. She loved reading and read a wide variety of novels. She also especially loved the holidays and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Robert Fournier and his wife, Lillie, of Sarasota; her daughter, Sally Daisomont and her husband, Roger of Lakewood Ranch; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Fournier of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and her sister Joyce Slate and her husband John of Jacksonville. She also leaves two granddaughters, Ashley (Fournier) Blackwell of Lilburn, Georgia; and Summer (Daisomont) Wesszo of Sarasota and two great granddaughters. She was predeceased by her son, William Fournier and her sister, June Ouellette. She was a most devoted mother and grandmother.
