Kellie Sue Bollettieri, passed away on October 10, 2023, at the age of 65, entering into Heaven's embrace. Kellie was born on March 19, 1958 in Sarasota, Florida. She is a true Sarasota native and proud fourth generation Floridian. She is a cherished mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Kellie was a beacon of love, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joel Benefiel, her mother, Peggy Handler, and her stepfather, Jack Handler.
Kellie leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her loving daughters, Nicole Kroenig (Brad) and Alexandra Bollettieri, and her adored grandsons, Hudson Kroenig and Jameson Kroenig, dearest siblings, Desi Murphy, Jill Handler Grens (Chris), Jeff Handler, and Joel Benefiel, treasured nephews, Matthew and Dustin Murphy, her precious cat Klaus, along with a multitude of special friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.
Kellie's educational journey took her to Riverview High School and, subsequently, to Manatee Community College, where she earned her Associates Degree as an Airline Attendant. She had an unyielding passion for nature, particularly the beach, where she found solace in the sun, ocean, and seashells, especially when joined by loved ones. Kellie possessed strong writing skills and her poetic talents were celebrated by those who knew her. She was an avid reader, with her Bible being her favorite book. She had a keen appreciation for art and an exceptional eye for design. Her creativity shone through in her various hobbies, such as jewelry making and clothing design. Kellie was a perpetual learner, driven by a thirst for knowledge, and she became an expert in the realm of natural health and wellness. Her athleticism knew no bounds, and she excelled in sports like horseback riding, gymnastics, water sports, and skiing. Kellie also immensely enjoyed dancing and grooving to her favorite music, especially when also enjoyed with family and friends.
Kellie's compassion and generosity were boundless. She was a devoted servant of others, always ready to lend a helping hand, even giving the shirt off her back when needed. Her charitable spirit extended to numerous organizations, but her unwavering support was especially felt by Mercy Ships and Compassion International.
Kind, gentle, and compassionate, Kellie's radiant presence filled any room she entered. Her magnetic energy and infectious laughter were an embodiment of her vibrant spirit. Being in Kellie’s company meant endless fun and laughter. Her humor and wit were a constant source of delight. Kellie had a way of infusing joy into every interaction, leaving lasting smiles and heartwarming memories in her wake. She was immensely proud of her family and made sure they knew it every single day. Her greatest joy came from her beloved grandchildren, and she was the best "Gamma" in the world, their bond unbreakable and eternal.
Kellie's unwavering faith in Christ was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted and steadfast Christian, living her days with unwavering virtue and setting a shining example for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Kellie's love for Christ was evident in her actions, and she consistently shared her faith, witness, and boundless joy with others. Her life was a testament to the love and grace of her Savior, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path. Kellie's faith was a source of strength and inspiration not just for herself but for those around her, and her legacy of love and devotion to her relationship with God will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were touched by her faith-filled journey.
A visitation to honor Kellie's memory will be held on Tuesday, October 17th from 5:00-6:00pm for family and 6:00-8:00pm for all family and friends at the Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, located at 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34232. Kellie's memorial service will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Bayside Community Church-Fruitville Campus, located at 3375 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, Florida 34237, with burial immediately following at 1:00 pm at Sarasota Memorial Park, 5833 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida 34231.
Kellie's family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of condolences, prayers, and well-wishes. Kellie's love knew no boundaries, and she deeply appreciated all her family and friends.
