Kathleen was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. She attended the San Francisco public school system. She liked taking the trolleys everywhere in the city.
Kathleen joined AT&T, holding various jobs throughout her career.
Kathleen then met the late Maurice (“Bill”) Brady of Mountain Lakes, NJ. Bill was the love of her life and future husband. They were inseparable and did everything together. They were both very proud of our Country.
Bill also worked for AT&T and in 1982, Kathleen relocated to Greensboro, NC. Kathleen enjoyed working as a line supervisor in the AT&T manufacturing plant in Winston-Salem, NC.
Retiring from AT&T, they moved to Sarasota, FL in 1987, residing in The Meadows.
While there, they launched a new business called American Giltspur, Inc. They sold “COWSLIPS” (Orthopedic Shoes for Lame Dairy Cows) to numerous farmers, hoof trimmers and veterinary supply houses. Kathleen enjoyed that business.
In 1997, Kathleen and Bill moved to Lakewood Ranch, FL. Kathleen really enjoyed all the amenities that Florida offers. She learned how to golf, sail and windsurf. She liked stargazing with telescopes, watching space launches, planting flowers, vegetables and observing FL wildlife. Kathleen also liked making floral arrangements for the house, music and going to Rock ‘n Roll concerts. She also liked going to The Packing House to listen to live music with friends.
Kathleen and Bill loved traveling, cruising and visiting new places in the U.S. and Europe. They were members of the Disney Club and traveled to Orlando, FL often.
When Bill became ill in the 2010s, Kathleen lovingly cared for him until he passed in August, 2019. She was fiercely loyal and devoted to him. She was deeply saddened by this loss.
Kathleen leaves behind step-daughter & friend, Eleanor Brady Jenitis (PA) and step-son & friend, William Brady (NC).
She also leaves behind her best friends, Sandi Vandergrift (Ohio), Audrey & Don O’Leary (FL), Pat & Ted Reddicliffe (England), and Lori & Larry O'Connor (NJ).
Kathleen also leaves behind Joy Patrick (FL) and other relatives including Brooke Bond.
Finally, Kathleen leaves behind a community of recent care givers and friends, including Lynn Stroney (FL) and Elisa Langerhahn (FL).
The service will be at Sarasota National Cemetery on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. Located at 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL. #941-922-7200.
