Katherine Onthank Brown, born on April 13th, 1939, passed away in her home on October 30th, 2021. She is survived by her three children; Donald Linton, David Linton, Katherine Linton, her beloved daughters-in-law Polly and Lisa and her six grandchildren, Chip, Reese, Lexi, Carrie, Nick and Jessica.
Katy (as she was known) lived a full life, driven first and foremost by an unwavering love and commitment to her immediate and extended family. Born and raised in Greenwich, Ct. Katy went on to create and run her own successful catering company, specializing in highly sought after Wedding Cakes and later, Silk Flower Arrangements for homes and businesses in Connecticut. She created and ran everything from her home, so she could raise and provide for her three children.
But in all her years on earth, it was who she was as a human being that was her greatest achievement of all. Any person who crossed her path saw immediately that her bright smile, her warmth, her laugh, her compassion and her openness could shine a bright light on even the darkest of corners. Katy endured some of the hardest knocks life could throw her way; physical, emotional, mental, financial-you name it. And yet there was absolutely nothing that could keep her down-and nothing that could take away that spirit, smile and unparalleled will to live and celebrate life as fully as she possibly could.
Katherine O. Brown had a heart as big as the universe. Her spirit lives in all of us lucky enough to have known and loved her, but her presence on earth will be so deeply missed.
