Judith “Judy” Louise (née McBride) Kurlander, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of south NJ and Bradenton, FL, left to join her God on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Heartland Health Care and Rehabilitation Center-Sarasota. Judy was born on July 21, 1942 to Allen and Ethel (Sheldon) McBride, in Philadelphia, PA. She was raised in Wenonah, NJ, attended Wenonah Public Schools and graduated from Pitman High School in 1960, where there are many fond memories and many childhood friends. Judy married that same year and had her three children. The family moved to Bradenton, FL in 1971 and Judy became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1975. Judy worked as an LPN at Manatee Memorial Hospital for most of her career, which is where she met her future husband Ron Kurlander who was working there as a pharmacist. Judy and Ron were married in February 1988 and settled in Sarasota. Judy spent the latter years of her career working in childcare, in Bradenton and Sarasota. During their marriage, Judy and Ron were season ticket holders to local theaters and concert venues, visited New York City on numerous trips, and travelled to see family in the US and abroad.
Survivors include her children, Ted (Colleen) Storms of Clermont, FL, Allen Storms of Sarasota, FL, and Karen (Simon Hewitt) Storms of London, England; her step-son, Bob Kurlander of Tucson, AZ; her three grandchildren: Robert (Felicity) Storms of Howey-In-The-Hills, FL, Shannon (Ben Goulder) Kurlander of London, England and Bailey Hewitt of London, England; her great-grandson, Coast Judge Storms of Howey-In-The-Hills, FL; her nieces: Beth (Tom) Foley of Mickleton, NJ, and Alane (David) Horner of Mt Royal, NJ; her grand-nieces, Laura and Emma Foley, and grand-nephew, Ian Horner, her sister-in-law, Sandy McBride of Mickleton, NJ; her dear friends, Toni, Denise and Monique Ring of Bradenton, FL; and numerous friends and family members.
Judy has now joined her devoted husband of 32 years Ron, her loving parents Allen and Ethel and beloved brother Allen.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's honor to the Tidwell Hospice House, www.tidewellfoundation.org/donate or the Humane Society of Sarasota, www.hssc.org/give/donate.
