Juan was born in Cuba, to Juan Martin and Maria (Rodriguez) on May 23, 1928. He grew up with his 7 siblings for whom he loved and cared. In 1953, he met his beloved wife, Elma Martin.
At a young age, Juan’s commitment to self-improvement and the pursuit of knowledge led him to join the Freemasons, where he dedicated over 65 years of his life. As a Freemason, Juan embodied the principles of brotherhood, charity, and personal growth, inspiring those around him to strive for excellence.
With unwavering determination and a heart full of dreams, Juan immigrated to the United States seeking a brighter future alongside his wife and children. Juan became a proud citizen of the United States contributing his talents and skills to his adopted homeland and leaving an indelible mark on the community he called home.
His legacy lives on through his children, Dr. Juan Alberto Martin (wife Norka Martin), Elma (Shakty) Sullivan (husband Kirk Sullivan), Rosa Pollard (husband Ed Pollard), and Roxanne Dondanville (Michael Brzezinski); all his adoring grandchildren, Tabatha Dondanville, Kiel Sullivan, Paulina A. Martin, Claudia Martin, Alberto Andre Martin, Blythe Dondanville, Djerid Corona; and great grandchildren Austin Forsythe, and Marion Davis and Floyd Davis.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Juan Martin and Maria Rodriguez; six of his siblings Nena, Eutimio, Maximiliano, Jose Manuel, Alberto, and Aldo Martin; two grandchildren Jessica and Robert Alexander Corona; and one great grandchild Alex Forsythe.
Juan will forever be remembered for his warm heart and his unwavering devotion to his family and friends. Juan’s generosity knew no bounds while his compassion touched the lives of countless individuals.
May his spirit and kindness continue to inspire us all. Juan will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
