John is survived by his wife of 67 years Maryann, Son Donald (Jill) of North Port, Daughter Marybeth (Jack)
Leonard of Port Charlotte,daughter in law Connie Bailey of Port Charlotte, six Grandchildren, five Great Grandchildren and two Great Great Grandchildren and Sister Elaine (John) Bacon.
John was Predeceased by Son (Jay) John Bailey formerly of Sinking Springs, PA, Grandson Brent, Brother Carl Bailey and Sister Kay Waart.
John was born April 25, 1935 in Alba, PA to Donald and Marsleah Bailey.
John served in the U.S. Air force during the Korean War. After he left his military service, he joined the Elmira NY Police Department from 1958 to 1986 and retired as a Lieutenant in the Detective Bureau. John and Maryann eventually settled in North Port, Florida.
A Celebration of Life and Military Honors at the Sarasota National Veterans Cemetery will be held at a later date and time to be determined.
