Born in Akron, Ohio, was Secretary to the Asst. Supt. of the Fort Wayne Community Schools in Ft. Wayne, Ind. beginning in 1962 and then Treasurer from 1968 until her retirement in 1989.
A memorial reception will be held from 2 - 4pm, Friday, March 9 at the Lakeridge Falls Club House, 4200 Lakeridge Blvd., near Tuttle and University Parkway in Sarasota. Burial will be at a later date in Indiana.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Faris, son-in-law, Merv Faris and grandson Benjamin Faris of Sarasota, step-sons David Hendry and Thomas Hendry, step-grandchildren Tommy Hendry, Lauren Hendry and Joey Hendry of Ft. Wayne, Ind., brothers Richard Ferris of Kerrville, Tex. and Paul Ferris of Yucca Valley, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hendry.
