She and her husband Willie moved to Sarasota, Florida in October 1978. Gertrude worked as a school bus driver in Sarasota Co. for several years. Later, she worked as a CNA for a Retirement Center. This is where she acquired her name “Trudy” to differentiate between her and another co-worker Gertrude.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie, son Steven, and grandson Christopher Yoder.
Surviving are 3 sons, Bill (Faith), John (Barbara) Mike (Tammy), 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 brother Joe (Bonnie) Miller. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
In her later years she enjoyed attending Colonial Oaks Baptist Church.
There will be a celebration of life on Monday, August 22, 2022 AM at 11:00 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home - Wiegand Chapel, 7454 S. Tamiami Tr., Sarasota, FL 34231.
Burial will be private.
