Born in the Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY June 17, 1933. Elenmarie graduated from St. Francis Xavier Academy in 1951 and from Hunter College in Manhattan in 1955. She was an accomplished swimmer – she on Sunday swam on Hunter’s varsity team as well as lifeguarding throughout New York. After graduating she taught school in Brooklyn and in Camp Lejeune, NC during Bill’s US Marine Corp service. Later, after graduating from the New York Institute of Interior Design, Elenmarie formed Colts Neck Interiors, Ltd., an interior design business in Colts Neck, NJ where the family lived for many years. She also lived in London, UK and Rumson, NJ.
Elenmarie and Bill enjoyed traveling, playing golf and tennis, and attending the theater. She was a member of Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club, Deal Golf and Country Club and Waterlefe Golf and River Club. Elenmarie served on the board of the Family and Children Services of Monmouth County where she donated much of her time. Always active in the Catholic Church, they were most recently parishioners at Church of the Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach and Our Lady of Angels near Bradenton.
Elenmarie’ love of life, family, and friends was infectious. She was a consummate educator and adviser. We will all miss her counsel from home decorating to child rearing, from relationships to fashion, and from politics to party planning. We will all miss her quick smile, fun attitude, “skol” and enthusiasm for all. The 60th anniversary of the Family Christmas Party which she started the year she was married and her love of playing and teaching bridge that she passed down to generations are examples of that love and enthusiasm.
Family is receiving friends on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, Fl. A eulogy service will be held at 9:00 am on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church; Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted immediately following at 9:30 am.
