She attended University of Miami and graduated in 1962. Where she was on the College Board, a member of The Newman Club a Catholic student based organization. She was also in a sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, where she made life long sisters.
Elaine’s extensive career began in Northern Virginia, where she was the catering manager for the United Way of America, headquarters in Alexandra, VA. When she moved to Florida she worked for The Oaks in Osprey, where she also was the catering manager. She then went on to become teacher at Children’s Haven in Venice, FL and the past few years she was an assistant pre-school teacher at The Church of The Palms.
Elaine was a true light to all whom she came in contact with. She was a treasured friend and family member to all. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her three grandsons. Instilling in all of them the importance of Faith, Love and Family. She had a love of cooking and keeping up family traditions, passing down the Italian heritage and family recipes that, will forever remain and continued to be carried on. Elaine spent many a hour enjoying and watching her grandsons play sports. She was beloved by all. Her generosity and love will live on forever, in our hearts and our deeds.
She is preceded in death by her former husbands, Robert Bruce Flanagan, and Robert Sherriff; her brother, Richard “Pooch” Fusia; and her son-in-law, Joseph R. Morris III.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Kristen Morris; her grandchildren, Andrew L. Morris, Brett F. Morris, and Joseph R. Morris IV; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Fusia.
A funeral mass for Elaine will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at St. Martha's Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236. A burial will occur at Bushnell National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
