Born November 1, 1918 in Willsboro, NY to Francis A. Flora and Agnes B. Murray Flora. Mrs. Norton was the valedictorian of both her high school class of Willsboro High School in 1936 and Champlain Valley Hospital Nursing School in 1940. She married her childhood sweetheart in October 1943, Howard Grant Norton, making her own wedding dress and each of the attendants. They moved to Miami, FL until the end of WWII when her husband was transferred with Pan American Airways to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1947. They returned to the states in 1954 where she was active in scouting, fishing and gardening. In retirement they moved to North Florida where they traveled extensively with their Grumman airplane. She became a Master bridge player and was a proficient knitter, providing countless beautiful blankets and sweaters to each family member. In her later years she moved to Sarasota residing in Sunnyside Villages. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, and each of her siblings, Felix Flora, Claude Flora, Richard Flora, Vaughn Flora and Ruth Flora Hugel. She is survived by her son, Harmon John Norton of Plano, TX and daughter Sylvia Norton Weeks of Sarasota; grandchildren, Howard Grant Norton, Casey Norton Mote, Wendy Weeks Ross, Robert Grant Weeks, John Weeks and Elizabeth Weeks Smith and thirteen great-grandchildren.
