David John Cripps was born in 1931 in Oxford, England. He immigrated to the United States in 1958.
He worked for General Motors for 30 years, working his way up to Director of Buick, Olds, and Cadillac. He then worked as Vice President of Masco Industries and President of Cars and Concepts. After retiring to Sarasota, he served on the board of the Salvation Army for several years. He also served as president of his condo building for 12 years. He was passionate about cricket and rugby.
He is survived by wife Sheila, daughters Julie Schlesing and Karen Gustkey, favorite son-in-law Dave Gustkey, and grandchildren Jason Prucha, Erin Ross, and Chris Prucha.
