Dan Murphy family, 
Just became aware of Dan’s death.  Prayers and condolences from those who remember both Dan and his family from your Paris, Illinois years.  Ed and I will have a mass said for Dan at St. Mary’s.  We will miss his broad smile and enthusiasm for life.

To the entire Murphy family ---
We were shocked to hear the news today of Dan's passing into eternal life. As we shared the news with TJ and Chris, we all agreed that this was truly a loss of a person who always went out of his way to help out.  One particular memory was Dan's help in building a float for St. Mary's School. Another memory that was shared, was the time that Terry and TJ staged a Snowman and Santa outside of his business in the middle of summer! Not for sure if he ever found out who did it! Dan will always be remembered for his smile, his willingness to help others, and most importantly, his dedication to his family. Sending you all of the love and sympathy right now than you can imagine.  From the very first time I met Dan all those years ago in Indiana and then every interaction that followed over the last 30yrs, he always could make you laugh and was a larger than life personality in the room.  There was never a better example of a true partner in a relationship or of what a supportive father is supposed to be than Dan in my opinion. 
So many of us were blessed to get to say that we knew Dan Murphy.

Alan  Zuber is correct.  At a time like this, words just are not adequate, but we all still want to try, hoping that in a small way, telling you how much Dan meant to all of us helps you deal with your loss.
I will remember Dan as being so much more then just a good old boy from southern Missouri. Worked hard and played hard.  Succeeded in business but excelled in life, living his life to its fullest and in the process making everyone else’s life a little brighter and much more interesting.
Above all, a man who was intensely proud of his family and never hesitated to share that pride with his friends.

Dan, was a good friend when he lived in Paris.  I was stunned to learn of his passing.  My sincere condolences to Julie and the entire family, RIP, pal.
 



Julie and Family-  I am so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. He was a wonderful man, and I am so proud to say I had the privilege of knowing him. He was a pretty great boss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family during this time.  

We were very saddened by the passing of Dan (Gus). It was truly an honor to have him as a friend.  He made the best of every situation.  He was a good listener and would always try to help if he could.  He knew how to live life.  We will miss his company.  Rest in Peace.

Julie, Kailey, Sean, and especially Carol,
 I really don't have words (which is unusual if you remember) to make any part of this better for any of you or Dan's thousands of friends. I feel fortunate to have many  conversations with Dan over many years. I feel especially fortunate to have visited with him in December. He was always the same: great smile, friendly attitude, and full of what I call his Missouri/Arkansas charm :-):-). I loved his stories. I also loved hearing him talk about his parents, his wife, and his kids.  As you all know he loved you dearly. Thank you all for coming to Paris and sharing Dan with us. I just wish I had a picture of one of those pep assemblies at Crestwood to share--he was true team player. :-)
  

My wife and I are very grateful to have befriended Dan. We loved hearing his stories and sharing a laugh. My favorite memory of Dan was when he was so excited to show me his ideas for vanity license plates for the new car he just bought. What made it even better was I sold him the car he was getting vanity plates for so it was great to share in the excitement. We will miss Dan greatly. We send our sincere condolences to his entire family.

I knew Dan in high school. We graduated from Liberty in May, 1978. He was a nice guy with a quick smile. Dan will be greatly missed. My prayers are with all Dan's family and friends.  See you again one day, Dan. We'll have a class reunion!
