Suzanne was a creative person, who loved to learn. In August of 1988 she became a Professor at the State College of Florida teaching English, Creative Writing, Short Story, and Religion. Her poetry was printed in multiple literary magazines and 2005 her book of poetry “Markers” was published. A student once said she was a woman of “rare intelligence and incredible insight”. She is remembered for her commitment to family, her tender heart, and genuine caring for others.
She is survived by her loving children Doni E. Hodge, Michael Keyworth, and Holly S. (David) Fahey. Her devoted grandchildren Corey and Bonnie Keyworth, Kayla Hodge, and Amber Hodge. Great grandchildren twins Michael and Malachi, twins Dominik and Kaitlynn, Naomi and Abigail. Sister Annette Pierce and brother-in-law Charlie Pierce, Sister Kathryn Pringle and brother-in-law Chuck. Her dogs were her loving companions – Penny and Sierra.
She is preceded in death by parents Harold Albert Dickson and Jonnye Julia Dickson.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Suzanne’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or an Animal Advocacy Organization of your choice.
