She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walter; sons, Brad (Sylvia Echeverria), Corey (Sarah) and Jeff (Lesley); sister, Pearl (David) Florand; grandchildren, Tyler Todd, Sarah, Mitch and Nick; niece, Heidi Proctor and nephew, Todd Florand.
Connie was an enormous advocate for the Center for Building Hope, a support group for cancer survivors where she worked part-time for a few years. She not only received support from the center but also was an inspiration to others by sharing her personal experiences and triumphs overcoming her battles with cancer. She was an amazingly loving wife, mother, grandma, aunt, friend and event coordinator to so many. She will be missed greatly and continue to inspire us every day.
A memorial mass will be held on Sat. Jan. 17, 2015 at 10 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sarasota, FL.
