Charles Arthur Wingate

Born on September 2, 1923 in Toms River, NJ to the late Charles and Elsie Wingate, he served his country in the US Navy during WWII, Pacific Theatre.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Geraldine E. Wingate; loving children, Nancy M. Goss (Robert) of Colts Neck, NJ, Frances P. Chickering (William) of St. Joseph, MI, Kenneth R. Papa (Carol) and Kathleen A. Goff (Robert), both of Sarasota; cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Chickering, William Chickering (Betsy) and Troy and Chad Papa and great granddaughter, Rose Chickering. Also surviving are his sisters, Donna Aleshire and Nancy L. Blackburn and brother-in-law, William Ward.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his sister, Mabel Ward and step-mother, Etta Wingate.

Visitation will be held at Palms Robarts Funeral Home on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12 noon.

Interment to immediately follow at Palms Memorial Park.
