Charles Henry Gould, 86, of Sarasota, FL and Tuftonboro, NH died peacefully on September 25, 2019 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara (Pratley) Gould; his daughters Sally Ward and her husband Jeff of Westborough, MA and Jane O’Sullivan and her husband Mark of Southborough, MA; his granddaughters Lindsey Ward, Kristen Ward, Sarah O’Sullivan and Jennifer O’Sullivan; his sister Deborah Jones of Bourne, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Evelyn Blaisdell, Priscilla Brock and Helen Holmes Sullivan, and his brother Robert T. Gould.
Charles was born August 12, 1933 in Norwood, MA, the son of Charles T. and Marion (Atherton) Gould. He graduated from Walpole High School and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst (class of 1955) with a degree in Business Administration. He played on the UMass hockey team and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. He and Barbara married in 1956 and moved to El Paso, TX where Charles was in the US Army stationed at Fort Bliss. Upon discharge from active duty he went to work for Raytheon and Honeywell, where he was in computer sales and marketing for many years. He was Director of Sales and Marketing at Boudreau Computer Systems prior to his retirement. They lived in Framingham, MA for 35 years before moving to Siesta Key, Sarasota FL in 1996.
Charlie was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots, and enjoyed woodworking, doing yard work, and reading, but his real love was Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire where he spent each summer since childhood fishing and boating, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed his time on Siesta Key and will be missed by his many friends there.
