Carol Judith (Schnebel) Oltchick, 78, beloved wife to Merrill Oltchick for 46 years, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on December 6, 2017 in Sarasota, FL. Carol was born in Yonkers, NY in 1939 and she was raised by her parents, Dr. Emil Schnebel and Lisbeth Mayer Schnebel.
In 1970 she met Merrill who became the love of her life. They married the following year and lived in Springfield, MA where she devoted herself to being Merrill's wife and to raising his four children, Paul, Dana, Bruce and Lesley. She lived her last years with her husband in Sarasota, FL. Carol had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, enjoyed travel, and dearly loved her family and friends.
Among her many accomplishments she served as one of the first Peace Corps volunteers, worked as an industrial design artist, and started and operated her own antiques business.
Carol is survived by her husband, Merrill Oltchick, her children Paul Oltchick, Dana Lundy, Bruce Oltchick, Lesley Korvin, her son-in-law Mark Lundy, her grandson Gregory Korvin, her brothers Robert and Edgar Schnebel, her sisters-in-law Maddy Schnebel and Frances Goldstein, and many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister Marion (Schnebel) Becker. her sister-in-law Linda Schnebel, and her brothers-in-law Henry Becker and David Goldstein.
