She was predeceased by her parents, Mark and Esther Deremer of Phillipsburg, New Jersey and her sister Elizabeth Hanisek, also of Phillipsburg. The one love of her life, her Husband of 52 years, Theodore “Ted” Brewer, has already greeted her upon her arrival in Heaven.
Arlene was a 1945 graduate of Phillipsburg High School (Go Stateliners!) and a 1947 graduate of Churchman’s Business School. She worked as an Executive Secretary for the Dixie Cup Company and after marriage became the best wife, mother and grandmother ever.
She served as a Deacon for Presbyterian Church of the Palms, helped with the Deacons’ Food Pantry and tutored many children at the church’s After School Program.
Arlene loved to read, care for her dogs, spend time with her children and grandchildren and fall asleep watching television. She tirelessly cared for her mother, father and husband during their final days. She was loved from the day she was born to the day she died and will be lovingly remembered forever.
She is survived by her children: son Mark (Cynthia), daughter Kim, daughter Laurie (Gary) and son Eric (Darcy) as well as two grandchildren: Ashley Elizabeth Holland and Theodore “Tab” Brewer.
Services will be held in The Chapel at Presbyterian Church of the Palms on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. with internment to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. where she will be laid to rest side-by-side with her beloved Ted.
Memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Church of the Palms, 3224 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Florida 34239.
