Alec was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 3, 2000 to Duane Paul Welch and Melanie Lisa Welch. He passed away on June 3, 2024 at the young age of 24. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Paul E. Welch, and left behind his parents, Duane P. Welch and Melanie L. Welch; his brothers, Dylan J. Welch, Brendan J. Welch, and Caden A. Welch; his grandparents, Joyce B. Welch, Joe and Brenda Hutchins; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Alec was naturally inquisitive and very hands on, with a passion for technology and learning. He was always contemplating the meaning of life. He enjoyed nature and time with his family and friends. He taught himself piano and surprised us with his ability. Moonlight Sonata was a favorite.
Alec lived with conviction and held himself to a high standard. He overcame many personal obstacles in order to continue spending time with those he cared for and to further his education. His academic achievements include a Certification in Computer Systems and Information Technology at Manatee Technical Institute, and he was pursuing a Bachelors of Computer Science at the University of South Florida.
Alec had a gentle and timid nature, but opened up to those he was closest with. He had a beautifully unique sense of humor and generous spirit. He was a loyal friend and was faithful to those he loved. He was held in high regard by friends and family and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life gathering for Alec will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232.
Memorial donations in Alec's name may be made to Clubhouse International or Prodigal Daughters.
