William "Bill" Henry Hicks Jr.

William “Bill” Henry Hicks, Jr., an 87 year-old longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama and Stockton, Alabama, passed away June 1, 2022. Mr. Hicks was born in Goodway, Alabama. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1961, during the Korean War. He is a graduate of Tate High School in Pensacola, Florida, and the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. He retired from Bender Shipbuilding and Repair, Inc. after many years of service as Chief Financial Officer. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Powell Hicks, and his parents, William Henry Hicks and Lyda Smith Hicks. Mr. Hicks is survived by his daughter, Karen Loraine Hicks, his beloved granddaughter, Abigail Kennedy Aikin, his brother, Alonzo Lavon Hicks, his former son-in-law, Jay Aikin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive visitation at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street in Mobile on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 10:00 am. to 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service and Interment will be at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 12:30 pm.
