Ray was preceded in death by his wife of over 20 years, Julia Anita Harris.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Scarlett Hamilton (Buck); stepdaughter, Jenny Evans; grandsons, Dustin Delafosse, Caleb Delafosse, and Peyton Hammac; and great-granddaughter, Cassie Rose Delafosse. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Marcy Payne (Bobby), and Shelia Walker (Tony), and many other beloved family and friends.
Ray was a graduate of Vigor High School. All that knew him would tell you how clever, compassionate, and hardworking he was. He spent all his working years focusing on Environmental compliance in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry on the Mobile River. During his career, Ray was the first person to show up and the last person to leave. He wore many hats, and, when anything needed to be done, he was the guy many turned to.
Ray would make his family and friends laugh with his collection of what many would consider junk, but he was resourceful and always had it if you needed it. He also had a great love for running. Up until his death, Ray participated in many spartan races, charity runs, and mud runs.
He truly was a man of many talents, loved helping others, and will be greatly missed by all that were blessed enough to know him.
