Thomas Ted Herrington was born January 9, 1943 to Ross and Ethel Herrington in Philadelphia, Mississippi. On the early morning of Tuesday, September 19, 2023, he entered Heaven's Glory. Welcomed home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, along with his parents, his baby sister, Mible Ball; brothers, Hugh and Don Herrington; and a niece Cindy Ball Key.
Ted served in the United States Army after being drafted 1965 – 1967. Always a Veteran! A prominent Businessman, owning his insurance agency, involved in Liberty National Insurance Company for many years. Later he would own his Car lot first on Highway 45 then moved it to Highway 43 in Saraland. He helped develop “Herrington Contractors” with his brothers Hugh and Lee, building beautiful homes all over Mobile and Baldwin County. Ted was a loving, kind, southern gentleman with a bit of mischievous humor. He loved singing at the Opry for 15 years enjoying entertaining the crowds. Singing became his “Happy Place” and when he wasn’t entertaining us, he was our comedian!
Ted is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 8 years, Betty Burdette Herrington; step children, Paul D. (Denise) Byrd and Lori Waltman (Johnny); step grandchildren, Caleb and Ben Byrd, Brooke and Kiersten Waltman; brother Lee Herrington (Marie), and a sister Sarah Collier also, survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives, family and friends.
