Thelma Prisock Cochran, 87, of Eight Mile, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at home. Mrs. Cochran was born into a family of sharecroppers in the Mississippi Delta, which prepared her for a life of farming and gardening. She was also a Jacquelyn of All Trades, picking up hobby after hobby throughout her life. She was a master at needlework, quilting and crocheting being her favorites. She also enjoyed ceramics at one point, farming with her husband, and other various activities. But what Mrs. Thelma loved most of all, was her family.
Mrs. Cochran was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Dammie Prisock; one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Roscoe Cochran; her son Dewayne Cochran and his fiancée Dana Hartsell; grandson, Troy (Gayle) Cochran; granddaughter, Kimberly Cochran; great-granddaughter, Nadia Saunee; and two sisters, Middie Sandifer and Lorine Dempsey.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Wolfridge Cemetery in Mobile.
