Shirley Ann Carlisle

Shirley Patrick Carlisle - a loving wife, daughter, mother, aunt, grand and great-grandmother. A native of Citronelle, AL and longtime resident of Chickasaw and Axis, AL passed away tragically with her dog, "Baby" in a house fire on Friday, October 11, 2013. Shirley "Nanny" was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eva Patrick; brothers, Bill and Pat; and sisters-in-law, Edna, Etheleen and Jean Patrick and Louise Carlisle; sisters, Grace "Sissy" Langham, Christine Morris; brothers-in-law, Elbert Langham, Claude Morris and Oris Lee; grandson, Michael Carlisle; three infant siblings and doggie, Sugarbear. She is survived by her loving husband, Jesse L. Carlisle; daughter, Gwen Lister Carlisle (Billy Jr.); son, Obie "Bubba" Carlisle (Cristy); brother, Ben Patrick; sister, Nancy Lee; brother-in-law, Donnie Carlisle (Deborah); grandchildren, Tracy Lister Mabrey (John), Jackie Lister (Lorrie), eleven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and loving neighbors. We would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the Creola Volunteer Fire and Police Departments for their extreme bravery in our time of tradegy. The family will receive friends at Creola United Methodist Church, Hwy. 43 in Creola, AL, on Friday, October 18, 2013, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Graveside services and interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Creola Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family please asks that donations be made in memoriam to the Creola Volunteer Fire Deparement.
