Sarah Freeman Lee

Sarah Freeman Lee – 77, of Satsuma, AL, died in her home, surrounded by her loving family on September 20, 2014. She was born in Brownville, AL to the late Scott and Odell Freeman. Mrs. Lee retired from Alfa Insurance in Saraland, AL and enjoyed attending the University of Alabama football games with her husband.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Terry (Sam) and Faye Skelton (Clark); brother, Charles Freeman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeffey and Ollie Lee; sister-in-law, Maxine Smith; and brother-in-law, Travis Turner. Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband, Dolphus Lee; daughters, Debbie Eddins (Gary) of Satsuma, AL and Patricia Herndon of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Christina Eddins Milne (Josh) of Semmes, AL, Zachary Lee Herndon of Tuscaloosa and Morgan, Natalie, Hugo, Julia, and Sarah (her namesake) Questroy of Nieppe, France; sister, Jean Freeman Evans of Northport, AL; sister-in-law, Pauline Turner of Birmingham, AL; brothers-in-law, Dossie Lee (Jan) of Birmingham, Hubert Lee (Jewel Dean) of Tuscaloosa, Jimmy Lee and Joe D. Smith of Winfield, AL; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Ashley Hall, Rorie Walker, Gentiva Hospice, and the Liz Carden Sunday School Class at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Visitation will be held from Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. chapel funeral service. Interment will follow in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Gentiva Hospice.
