Samuel Brise Blackwell Sr.(Sonny)/(DadDad) age 83 of the Semmes Community went to be with his Lord and loving Wife on March 5, 2023.Born August 17th, 1939 in Repton, Alabama to Samuel Laird Blackwell and Meril Blackwell.He was one of 4 children born and Only Son. Sam as a young man worked very hard to Help Support his Family. A job he was Working driving a Dump Truck is where he would Cross Paths with the love of his Life Helen, Lovingly called her "Doll" and she gave him the Nickname “Sonny”. After Marrying on March 12,1959 & fulfilling his Duties to the Airforce, They started a Family of their own with Two Sons and One Daughter. After a few different Jobs Sam & Helen dreamed of opening up their own Automotive Repair business that could be carried on through Future Generations. On June 1st, 1963 S&H Truck Parts became a reality due to their hard work and dedication. Sam & Helen’s business became Very Successful which allowed them to be a part of Multiple Organizations in their Local Community and give Back to Others.In 1982 Sam’s first grandchild of many was Born shortly after he was able to Talk Sam would be given the new name that many more would call him to this day still “DadDad”. Sam’s Dream of his Business is still alive and well in younger generation and can be accredited to
the Inspiration of S&H Truck Parts & Equipment; S&H Towing & Recovery; Blackwell’s Auto Sales; Blackwell’s Truck Sales; and Blackwell’s Towing & Recovery and Many Other Affiliated Companies. After 30 years Sam Finally Retired from S&H and was able Enjoy Traveling by RV & Cruise Ship to places most could only dream to Visit. DadDad enjoyed teaching his Children, GrandChildren and Great GrandChildren the Importance of Family, his knowledge of Farming, Fishing, Fixing Old Cars & Trucks, Legend Car Racing, his skilled passion to Build things from Metal or Wood and his Love of Drinking Coffee which was always followed with some very Caring or Concerning Conversations about life. If you ever came to Visit there would always be fresh Coffee Brewing & Life Stories of his Adventures. One of his favorite sayings was “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show” after hearing this for many years especially as a young child and him being playful calling all his Grandchildren Monkeys because we all had the extra energy and curiosity of things. The real meaning of this phrase “One Setback Should Not Impede Progress.” Sam is preceded in Death by Helen Delores Markham Blackwell.He Survived by his Children Oldest Son Samuel Bris, Jr. & Susan Blackwell, Middle Child Sonya Kay Blackwell and Youngest Son Cecil Dewayne Blackwell. Grandchildren: Samuel Brise III & Elizabeth Blackwell; Kasey & Jason Stuckey; Jared & Melody Blackwell; Codi Farley; Katelynn & Logan Dallmann; Justin & Hannah Jones; Joseph Pruitt; Kayla Blackwell; DJ Blackwell; Elizabeth Blackwell Great Grandchildren: Jordan Davis; Kaydence Blackwell III; Riley Dodson; Sadie Elston; Emma Blackwell III; London Blackwell III; Tanner Stuckey; Addelyn Grace Dallmann; Jayce Cooper Dallmann, Abigail Jones. A visitation for Samuel will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
