Ruby Louise Odom, age 91, native of Uriah in Monroe County, Alabama and a longtime resident of Turnerville, Alabama passed from this life and into eternal life through Heavens gates to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
She was a member of Turnerville Baptist Church where she dearly loved her pastors and friends and attended services as long as her health would allow. Ruby was best known for her servants heart and nurturing spirit. She enjoyed the simple things in life, including admiring the beautiful spring flowers in her yard and watching the hummingbirds off her porch. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. She treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Susie Odom, four brothers, Earlie (Bessie) Odom, Leonard Odom, Albert Odom and Charles (Nancy) Odom and also by her husband of 60 years, John E. Odom.
She is survived by her three children, Donald E. (Gladys) Odom, Sr., Danny V. (Eudora) Odom and Susan O. (Bruce) McPherson. Six grandchildren, Donald (Samantha) Odom, Jr., Kristina (Jerry) D'Acquisto, Malinda (Adam) Ward, Joshua (Jessie) Odom, Brooke (Eric) Nelson and Blake McPherson, eleven great-grandchildren, Parker, Cooper, John Walker and Fisher Nelson; Justin and Austin Ward; Natalie and Sarah Odom, Mathis Odom and Scarlett and Asher D'Acquisto as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Donald Odom, Jr., Joshua Odom, Blake McPherson, Jerry D'Acquisto, Adam Ward, Eric Nelson, Parker Nelson and Cooper Nelson.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tom Dees and Rev. Garry Harred will officiate.
