Roy Farren Davis

Roy Farren "Chief" Davis, Sr. - age 62, passed away peacefully of Thursday June 16, 2016, in Atmore, AL. He recently moved to Atmore to enjoy the quiet living he loved on the Poarch Band Creek Indian Reservation, where he is a Tribal member. Prior to his move, he was a long time resident of West Palm Beach, FL.

Roy was born on November 20, 1953, in Deer Park, AL to Osie Davis Sr and Lola Davis. He spent his early childhood years between Mobile, AL and Chicago, IL. Roy eventually moved his family to New Orleans, LA and started his own construction/roofing business. He later joined his sister, Blanche, and brother-in-law, Tony, in FL after the industry began to slow down, and FL was developing at a rapid pace.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents;his brothers Osie Davis Jr, G. Byron Davis, and James Calkins; and brother-in-law, Anthony Scaccia Jr.

Roy is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Davis; 12 children: Roy Davis Jr (Tiffany), Destiny Davis - TX, Meghan Davis Hurtado (Maycoll)- Italy, Teena Davis, Jesse Davis, Cheyenne Davis (Kyle), Chase Davis (Jessica), Christina DeMaio, Sarah S. Haddix (Jeff)- FL, Cassie Davis Tascone (Nikkolas), Lacey Davis, Cole Davis (Amber) - NY; two sisters, Blanche Scaccia - FL and Susan Davis - IL; 21 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, Alabama 36571 on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery in Deer Park, Alabama beginning at 4 p.m. Please join the family for a repast immediately following burial at Chickasaw Faith Center 366 Erie St, Chickasaw, AL 36611.
