Pricie Helen Thomas Gardner, one of nine children of John Lee Thomas Sr. and Sallie Angeline Hovell Thomas, born on February 20, 1927 in Mobile County Alabama, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2019 surrounded by her loving and devoted family at her residence in Satsuma, Alabama.
Mrs. Gardner was a native of Mobile County and a resident of Satsuma for 82 years. She retired from Aramark Food Service at Courtaulds Fibers as a cafeteria manager after many years of service. She was a member of Redemption Church, a long time member of Satsuma First Baptist Church and a member of the Satsuma Library Club.
Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gray Gardner, her parents, John Levi Thomas Sr. and Sallie Angeline Hovell Thomas, and six brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her loving and devoted son, Casey (Anna) Gardner; two grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Burgio and Michelle Gardner; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Burgio; a sister, Edna (Wilson “Dub”) Pierce and a brother, Howard “Bud” (Joan) Thomas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Gardner will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, Alabama. Graveside Service will be held in Satsuma Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019 with Rev. Wayne McMillian officiating.
Serving as pall bearers are: Ronald “Corky” Thomas, Aden Thomas, John Thomas, Taft Pierce, Ernie Morgan and Richard Thomas.
