Phillip Jackson “Jackie” Griffin departed this life at his home in Semmes, Alabama on April 19, 2022 at the age of 77. Jackie was born on July 21, 1944 in Crestview, Florida. He loved hunting, fishing, cooking, NASCAR racing, and just spending quality time with family and friends. Jackie retired following many years of dedicated services with Saunders Engine and Equipment Co. Inc. as a Diesel Mechanic. Following retirement Jackie worked for D.C.’s for many years with his good buddy, David Clark. Jackie will be remembered for the loving husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend he was.
Jackie was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Crawford Griffin; his mother, Maryann Cornelius Brown Griffin; one brother, James “Jim” McJunkin; and a step-son, Tommy “Bubba” Sheffield, Jr.
Left to cherish Jackie’s wonderful memories will be the love of his life for forty-nine years, Dorothy “Dot” Griffin; three children: Phillip (Minda) Griffin, Perry Griffin, Ronda (Greg) Causey; three step-children: Denise (Leon) Yarbrough, Keith (Jennifer) Sheffield, Terry Sheffield; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
Honoring Jackie as pallbearers will be Kenneth Ledbetter, Phillip Merryman, Bo Woody, Xander Woody, TJ Sheffield, and Steven Ferguson.
A visitation for Jackie will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 1:00 PM until time of funeral service at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, Alabama.
Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Creola Cemetery, Creola, Alabama.
