He loved playing darts, pool, going to yard sales, and playing guitar, and was always willing to help anyone no matter what he had going on.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Anthony "PJ" Lanier, Jr., and his father, Thomas Lanier.
Paul is survived by his wife, Lucretia; daughter; Heather Lanier (Devin); mom, Carolyn Lanier; grandchildren, Troy, Nate, Jamiyah, Ja'Dev, and Kaiden; sisters, Victoria Lanier and Jennifer (Gerry) Givens; niece, Courtney Quinn and family; nephew, Jayce; favorite aunt and uncle, Kathy and Darryl Montelius; step-daughter, Samantha (Hoss) Fretwell; step-grandson, Hunter; as well as an army of close friends whom he loved and that loved him like a brother.
