Nancy Elliott – an 82 year-old native of Mobile and resident of Chickasaw died peacefully at home with her loving husband, James “Jim” Elliott, on Monday, December 19, 2022. Mrs. Elliott worked at Brookley Field as an administrative secretary until she retired to raise her children. She also helped her husband manage their rental properties. Mrs. Elliott was a member of Chickasaw United Methodist Church where she served as a junior high Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Lydia Circle. She was also a member of the Chickasaw Women’s Club, the Chickasaw Historic Society, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her favorite thing of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Brooks and Sarah Massey Clayton Brooks, and son, Christopher Brooks Elliott. She is survived by her daughter, Kara Boutwell (Denton); grandchildren, Ian Elliott Cummings, Brooks Boutwell, Nathan Boutwell, Taylor Steiner, Sophia Elliott, and Samuel Elliott; great-grandchildren, Noah Steiner and Ezra Steiner; brother, William Edward Brooks, Jr.; nephews, William Edward Brooks, III and Robert Brooks; niece, Denise Thompson; “daughter”, Ashely Braden; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from Chickasaw United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 36607, or Chickasaw United Methodist Church, 108 Lee St., Chickasaw, AL 36611.
