Michael Bruce Farni, 69, of Grand Bay entered eternity on Dec. 14, 2016. Visitation will be 9-11am on Sat, Dec. 17, 2016 at Redemption Church in Saraland. Funeral services will held at 11am with Dr. Ed Litton of Redemption Church officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest West on Snow Rd. Arrangements are being made by Radney Funeral Home.
Michael Bruce Farni was born on Oct. 16, 1947 in Biloxi, MS to Charles Bruce Farni and Virginia West Farni. He graduated from Redondo Beach High School in Redondo Beach, Ca. He married Susan Hazel Charpie on August 11, 1965 in Redondo Beach. He graduated from El Camino College in Gardena, Ca and attended the University of South Alabama. He worked as a quality assurance manager for the Quaker Oats company and later with Alpo Pet Foods for over 20 years. He also worked with the Bureau of Willdlife and Fisheries for 5 years. He cherished his time as a baseball coach for over 13 years at Grand Bay Union ball park. Other passions included being an avid reader, writer of both poetry and hymns. His creativity even brought him to develop such games as, Raging Fury- The Hurricane game, " Oh Nuts " and a game of chance, "Bury Barry". He will be remembered for his ability to share his wisdom and insight. He loved and admired his wife, children and grandchildren and was affectionately known as " Poppy ".
He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia West Farni, his brothers Kent Farni and Jacque Farni. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan Charpie Farni, Daughter Natalie Soyland (Jeff) of Columbia Falls, MT, Sons Dr. Shonn (Leigh Anne) of Mobile, Dr Courtland (Stacey) of Saraland and Trent McLain Farni of Grand Bay, his father Charles Bruce of Carpenter, OK, sisters Cheryl Tola ( Vince) of Tecumseh, MI and Michelle Thomas of Tulsa, OK; 13 grandchildren, Anders and Isak Soyland, Zachary, Keller, Lindsey Claire, Seth, Lillie, Courtney, Dawson, Caylee, Cara, Christian, Cate.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the Drs and nurses and support personnel who ministered to our family, to our faith family who lifted us with your prayers and thoughts and to a Mighty and Holy God who redeemed our Dad, Son, Husband and Poppy, into an Eternal existence by the blood grace of JESUS.
