Michael Douglas Duke

Michael Douglas Duke – a 68 year-old native of Birmingham, Alabama and longtime resident of Saraland passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Mr. Duke founded, owned, and operated Duke Instrument Service in Saraland for the past 37 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a charter member of Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church. Mr. Duke was an avid outdoorsman and also loved to cook. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband and father who had a contagious sense of humor. Mr. Duke was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. and Mary Ella Duke. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Deborah Duke; children, Thomas Duke (Bridget Wells), Tanya Allen (Chad), Jeanifer Long (Daniel), and Michael Gaffney (Tammy); seven grandchildren, Tyler (Emily), Trent, Trace, Bryce, Mya, Maggie, and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Aric and Parker; his beloved four-legged companion… Bowzer; dedicated employees, plus a multitude of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church on Friday, December 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
