Marietta Janet Taylor was born on May 14, 1929. She was the eldest child born to Horace and Virginia Taylor, and is preceded in death by her parents and younger sister, Eleanor Roselle Taylor Jackson. The family resided in Gulf Crest, Alabama and Marietta graduated from Citronelle High School. Following her graduation she worked for Jackson Harris for many years until she began her civil service career in 1965 at Brookley Airfield. Marietta would carpool with her coworkers sometimes driving her 1955 pink Dodge.
She died on September 17 at the age of 92 and he is survived by her 2 cousins, Jessica Crabtree Clark, and Roger Crabtree, her niece Janet Jackson Neverdahl, two nephews, Jesse S. Jackson and Donald A. Jackson and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Marietta will be remembered for her kindness, wit and incredible service to her family, friends and church.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service time of 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Gulf Crest Cemetery, Chunchula, AL.
