Margaret Marcelle Musgrove, 74, of Wilmer, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, March 26th, 2023 surrounded by her family. Ovarian cancer won the battle for her body, but she won the war for eternal life.
Margaret – more affectionately known as Marcelle, Mama, Mawmaw, and Aunt Marcie – was born on January 7th, 1949 in Butler, Alabama. She married her self-proclaimed “great love” in December of 1970. Together, they lived for a time in Germany and Washington state before settling again in Alabama and building their family.
She worked hard in managing the day-to-day functions of her household, as well as her role as store manager and bookkeeper. Her favorite part of her work was always the people she met, the conversations she had, and the friendships she forged. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her flowers, fishing, and traveling whenever and wherever she had the opportunity.
Margaret was predeceased by her father (Alva Durell Epps), mother (Mae Jewel Epps), and husband (Babe Ray Musgrove, Sr.). She is survived by her children Babe Ray Musgrove, Jr. (Deborah), Preston Barry Musgrove (Stephanie), and Rebecca Marcelle Musgrove (Chad Odom); grandchildren Brianne Waltman (Christian), Tucker, Fuller, Wylder, and Emilia; sisters Jean Johns, Elaine Cochran, and Bonnie Breedlove (Tommy); and countless nieces/great-nieces, nephews/great-nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Ray Musgrove, Jr., Barry Musgrove, Tucker Musgrove, Fuller Musgrove, Wylder Musgrove, Chad Odom, and Christian Waltman.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30th, 2023 from 9am-11am at Radney’s Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama. Memorial services will proceed at 11am in the chapel, followed by a brief graveside service. Margaret will be interred at Pierce Creek Cemetery alongside her late husband.
