Mame Elizabeth Chestang

Mame E. Johnston Chestang – an 81 year-old native of Washington County, AL and a resident of Fairford passed away at her home on Thursday, May 26, 2011. Mrs. Chestang was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she served as the church clerk for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Leroy Edward Chestang; son, Edwin Kelley Chestang; and sister, Ida Esther Orso. Mrs. Chestang is survived by three children, Sue Johnston (Travis), Jimmy Chestang (Lucy), and Harley Chestang; siblings, Michael Prince Johnston (Josephine), Martha Davis, Samuel Johnston (Betty), Rachel Sullivan (Opie), Jordan Carter (Orville), Anna Taylor (Armond), J.W. Johnston, and Linda Prine (Leonard); seven grandchildren, Felicia, Tim, Kevin, Hollie, Hope, Dana, and Tito; a host of great-grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from Mt. Moriah Baptist Church on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Friday, May 27, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Mt.
