Lillie Kathrine Pierce transitioned from this life on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at age 94. She was born on November 12 1926 in Gordo, Alabama and was a lifelong resident of Semmes, Alabama. Lillie grew up as a child and young adult during the Great Depression and WW2. Like many of her generation, she was tempered by those events to be strong, self-reliant and understood the need at times to do without and to make sacrifices for her family. Lillie possessed a quiet and gentle spirit that endeared everyone she met. She will be missed by many and remembered by all whose life she blessed.
Although she worked most of her life and retired after working 30 years for Eli Whit Company, Lillie still found the time to plant a garden and enjoy her many potted flowers. Many have said it didn’t matter what you gave her, if she put it in dirt she could make it grow. Lillie also love to spend a free day in the company of her daughter Kathy “running the roads” and shopping.
Lille was preceded in death by her parents: John William and Jessie Florence Pate Gregg; her husband , Clyde Atlee Pierce; eight siblings; son, Terry Atlee Pierce and daughter-in-law's: Barbara Annette Pierce and Maxine Gregg.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy D. Henebry and husband Richard; a son, Larry L. Gregg; three grandsons: Jason Morlan and wife Lauren Binford, Jacob G. Pierce, Randy O. Pierce; a grand-daughter, Jackie Lynn Crocker and husband Jeff; two great-granddaughters: Kari Crocker, Karli Crocker; one great grandson, Wyatt Morlan; along with extended family members and many wonderful friends.
A visitation for Lillie will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Valhalla Memorial Garden, Eight Mile, Alabama.
