Joseph Wayne Herring, "better known as Wayne", was born on March 30, 1947, in Mobile, AL. passed away on February 28, 2023 in Mobile, AL. Wayne spent 4 years in the United States Air Force where he served his country in the Vietnam War. After the Air Force, he worked at Ingalls for 15 years as a joiner. Most recently he was retired and spent the last years at William F. Greene Veterans Home. He loved to fish and no matter how difficult in his last years, he would love to dance. He will be singing and dancing with the Angels now in Heaven.
He was a loving Father and Grandfather. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Angela Wade (Marlon) and a son, Michael Herring; grandchildren, Benjamin and Victoria Lowery. His sister, Sheryl Thomas (David), and a brother James E. Herring Jr. (Cindy). He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Herring Sr. (Margaret) and Rebecca Finch McDonald (Charles).
Visitation for Wayne will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL. A graveside service will occur Friday, March 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 Alabama Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577.
