Helen Jean Clifton Jean Mitchell

Helen Jean Clifton Mitchell – an 81 year-old native of Brewton, Alabama and resident of Saraland passed away at her home on Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was a longtime member of Saraland United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Lunch Bunch. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and hosting friends in her home. Mrs. Mitchell loved God, her family, and her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbie and Elma Lee Franklin Clifton, and husband William “Mitch” Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Debra Knott; grandson Nick Knott (Katie); cousin and best friend, Mary Parnell; four aunts; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saraland United Methodist Church, 415 McKeough Street, Saraland, Alabama 36571.
