GERTRUDE JOHNSON, of Saraland, Alabama passed away on Saturday December 29, 2018. She was born in Semmes, AL. on October 8, 1922. She worked at the Saraland Post Office for 28 years, was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and loved loving a simple life. Mrs. Johnson loved her grandchildren, family and friends. Her church played a big part in her life along with the Saraland Senior Center. She was awarded Saraland Citizen of the year in 2014 and had an absolute love for the City of Saraland.
Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband E.L. Johnson, father Walter W. Lee, mother Mattie Powell Lee, brothers Claude Lee and Johnny Lee, sisters; Bessie Corley, Ethel Stringer, Roselle Twilly, Jo Bryant and Barbara Jean Fisher. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Rebecca) Johnson, sisters; Roselle Twilley and Jo Bryant, grandchildren Adrian (Mandy) Johnson and April (Robbie) White, great grandchildren Harper Johnson and Reed White.
A visitation for Gertrude will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, Alabama. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:30 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Saraland, Alabama.
