Gary Ivan Guthrie

Gary Ivan Guthrie, a long time resident of Mobile Alabama, Joined his lord in heaven on Thursday February 16, 2017. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Coshocton City, Ohio He loved the Lord and his family and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and listening to country music. His favorite hobby was making clocks and guitars for family and friends. He had been an excellent caregiver for his loving wife for many years. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Ruth Burleson Guthrie two sons Ron (Anna) Guthrie, Jeff (Ann) Guthrie, three daughters Cindy (Casey) Witherow, Debbie (Mike) Augustine, Sue Bright and one stepson Todd (Jennifer) Burleson, three sisters, Ellen Byers, Ruth (Art) Ball and Mary Jane (Marty) Lowe. He had seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Willaw Guthrie two brothers, Bob Ward and Dale Guthrie and one stepson Claude Burleson Jr. Gary worked for Saunders as a Leadman Mechanic for 20 years and retired from Everwood Lumber as a Lead Diesel Mechanic after many years of service. Family will receive visitors at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Al. On Monday February 20, 2017 from 5 to 8PM and a graveside service on Tuesday February 21, 2017 at Community of Christ Cemetery at 2PM in Vancleave, Mississippi. Gary will be greatly missed!
