She was born and grew up in Mobile, Alabama, born December 21, 1935 to the late Lula M and Dudley A. Lindsey. She worked many jobs as a young woman, Waitressing, a restaurant Manager and then moved on to Custom Drapery Sales with Sears then latter running their Custom Drapery Shop; her true destiny. This eventually lead to her own business “Designer Draperies Inc.” She and her ladies worked with decorators to create window treatments, bedspreads etc., for many of the most beautiful homes in Mobile and Baldwin County.
She loved sewing. She was an expert at making clothing, even made men’s suits. But her main passion was her love for the Lord. Her father made sure all his children knew the Lord. She never strayed. There is no way to know how many people she introduced to the Lord. She asked anyone she met if they knew the Lord. She would spend hours talking and counseling with friends.
This became her ministry in her last few years. Telling people of her close relationship with Jesus. She was a widow for 60 years but always said she wasn’t lonely because the Lord was with her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, a son , Norman “Butch” (Terry) Homer, and a daughter, Kathy Williams. She was one of 9 children, two surviving sisters, Lena (Charles) Edwards and Margie Prieto and a brother James (Kay) Lindsey, also, survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other who caller her Aunt Frankie, or Grandma Frankie all who loved her and will miss her.
