Elsie Brunetta Wright

Elsie Robertson Wright, 94, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024, in Saraland, Alabama. Born on August 30, 1929, in Richton, Mississippi, Elsie lived a full and accomplished life. A pioneering entrepreneur, Elsie co-founded two successful businesses, leaving a lasting legacy in the community.

Elsie is survived by her loving daughter, Lycendia C. “Cendi” Jernigan; her cherished grandchildren, Shane Jernigan and Christina Jernigan; and her great-grandchildren, Shaylyn Galliart, Izzy Etheridge, Miles (Kasey) Etheridge, Isaiah Jernigan, and Benjamin Jernigan and one great great grandson Orion.

She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Edith P. Robertson and Annette Parker four nieces, five nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Samuel Wright; her parents, Iva H. Robertson and William Robertson; her brothers, Evans Ray Robertson and Billy E Robertson; and her son-in-law, Wheeler F. (Sonny) Jernigan.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Elsie’s life will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Ala. on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. followed by a celebration of life service at 4:00 pm.
