Elouise Goodman Purvis, age 82, of Eight Mile, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her son, Butch (Terrie) Purvis of Eight Mile; her daughter, Debra Purvis (Robert) Lovett of Birmingham; four grandchildren, Andy (Nikki) Moorehead of Theodore, Jason (Irene) Moorehead of Irvington, Chasity English of Eight Mile, and Christy English of Bay Minette; a brother, Walter (Lynda) Goodman of Saraland; three sisters, Peggy (David) Lewis, Sheila (Charlie) Howard, and Linda (Matt) Perry all of Semmes; two sisters-in-law, Linda Goodman and Karon Goodman; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Goodman and Vermell Bennett Goodman; her husband, M.H. “Joe” Purvis; and two brothers, William Goodman and Wayne Goodman. She was born in Grove Hill, AL, December 28, 1934, and was a devout Church of God member. Mrs. Purvis retired from the Saraland K-Mart in 1996. Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 1, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. from the Oak Grove Chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Saraland. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
