Eleanor Frances Lewis – Born December 24, 1939 at home on Franklin Street in Mobile, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her father Robert; mother Elizabeth; sister Diana; nephew Cory; brother-in-law J.R.; and husband Ernest.
She was a graduate of Baker High School Class of 1958. She worked for Boulton Ford Co. and American Motors. She went to California in 1961 to work at Mather Air Force Base. There she met Ernest Lewis. They dated and married on base before coming back to Mobile in 1964. They repeated their vows in a double ceremony with her sister Diana and J.R. Robinson. She then worked at Scott Paper Co. before staying at home to raise three children.
She and “Ernie” were married for fifty years. During that time she was an active member in her church. She taught the ladies Sunday School Class and was involved in Vacation Bible School. Home Missions were very important to her. She deeply loved her Lord and Savior and was always a wonderful Christian example for those around her.
She was a loving wife and mother and a wonderful Christian woman. She will be greatly missed by her children, cousins and extended family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her three grateful children Donna, Bryan, and Robert who will miss her beyond all words, her son-in-law Flynn Christian, nephew Alan Robinson, niece Christy Robinson, two great nephews, many cousins and extended family.
Her children are comforted in the certainty that she is now with her heavenly father, husband, parents, sister, nephew and all her family and friends that have passed before her.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland from 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10 a.m. from St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Chickasaw. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens. Flowers are being accepted or you may make a donation to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1655 McGill Ave., Mobile, AL 36604.
